Half-time: More running than planned!

We have now been on the road for 38 days and hiked more than 900 km. This is far more than we had planned.

Our rhythm is around 25 km per day. On the route from Vesoul to Paris, we were impressed by the wide and relatively flat landscapes, often farmed, with deciduous forests and many streams and rivers in between. Walking for hours without noise and stench is something new for us. However, this has something to do with young people moving away to the cities. The fewer people live in the countryside, the fewer bakeries, stores, restaurants and public transport there are. And the more modest the basic services become, the less attractive rural life becomes. What a pity. It will be very difficult to stop this trend. We therefore enjoy the rare encounters with the local population all the more and are always happy to find an open restaurant.

We reached Paris two days ago. It's already half time. Our preparations and our choice of route have paid off. And our converted "baby jogger scooter" is working perfectly.

We are currently walking as far as possible and sensible along the Seine to Rouen. We hope to be there in another eight days.
